About W3 Initiative
W3 initiative is a Ghanaian based non-governmental organization which empowers young women with skills and girls to break cultural limitation to achieve their goals.
Winnie’s Women World Initiative (W3 Initiative) works to enhance the capacity of vulnerable, underserved and displaced women and youth in Ghana through our Vocational Education Training (SHE-VET), Leadership, Technology and Entrepreneurship. We address unemployment, inequalities and promote education in Ghana by producing quality educational materials including TVET design models and advancing Policy reforms through dialogue and advocacy. We are committed to serving vulnerable and marginalized women, girls and children by creating projects that advance their socio-economic welfare. Women and girls struggle with poverty and cultural norms their conditions are exacerbated by patriarchy in the Ghanaian society. Low societal expectations of their capability combined with socio-economic barriers, limited access to skills, lack of information, inadequate support and few social welfare benefits propel many women and girls into marginal and unproductive social roles to feed their families. This places them into least productive roles in Ghana.
Since its inception in 2018, W3 Initiative has supported more than 2000 women and girls through its SHE-VET Academy Program to enable them overcome hurdles to productivity and become key players in decision making and economic paradigm of their families and communities.
Our Vision
W3 Initiative’s vision is to empower the next generation of African women to be economically independent, break barriers and change the narrative.
