About 56 vocational trainees have graduated from the SHE VET Academy programme under the Winnie’s Women World initiative (W3 Initiative) a Non-Governmental Organization in Kumasi in the Ashanti region. The trainees were taught Craft thus, the making of Bead bags, earrings, necklace, Slippers and purse making. Other courses included, Beauty thus the Makeups, Wig, Pedicure, Manicure graphic design and Photography.
The first batch made of thirty (30) trainees were taken through two months of intensive training while the second batch made up of 26 trainees also were taken through 12days of intensive training graduated on Saturday 8th May 2021.
The non-governmental organization as part of its responsibility has a vision of empowering the next generation of African Woman to be economically independent, break barriers and change the narrative of women being completely dependent on men. Each graduate took home a certificate of completion of the courses.
Addressing the graduation ceremony, the Chief Executive of Winnie’s Women World initiative (W3 Initiative) Winnifred Selby, congratulated the graduates for successful graduation.
She said’’ I will like to use this opportunity to congratulate you all trainees graduating today for the level of seriousness you have demonstrated within the few weeks and months you have been with us here. I’m trusting you all that you will work with the same seriousness while starting your own work effective today’’ She said. She encouraged the graduating trainees to inculcate the habit of saving in any profit they make in the line of work to enable them to expand their shops and business on time. The graduating trainees commended the Winnie’s Women World initiative (W3 Initiative) CEO Winnifred Selby and other staff of the NGO for the vocational skills.
